Hosting and server logs
Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, USA, hosts this website. When you visit it, Netlify's servers automatically record technical data: your IP address, the date and time of the visit, the page you requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, because I have a legitimate interest in running the website securely and reliably. Netlify may process this data in the USA. Netlify is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and I have concluded a data processing agreement with Netlify. Netlify deletes the logs after [number] days.
Contact by email
When you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for project enquiries and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for all other requests.
I delete the messages when I no longer need them, unless statutory retention periods apply.
Fonts
This website loads its fonts from its own server. No data goes to Google or to other font providers.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking tools.
Your browser stores two small settings on your device: your choice of light or dark mode, and, for the current visit only, whether the name animation in the menu bar has already played. Neither setting leaves your device.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), erased (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20) and to object to its processing (Art. 21). To use these rights, email me.
Right to complain
You can complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA) in Ansbach.
