Concept Cuberethinking the vibratory plate
Concept Cube is an electric vibratory plate that moves freely in every direction and runs on app control. HATZ built it as a concept study for a construction industry that is moving away from diesel. At HYVE, we developed the first Concept Cube in 2022 and Concept Cube 2.0, which premiered at the BAUMA trade fair in 2025.

The brief
HATZ is known worldwide for engines in construction machinery such as vibratory plates and compressors. As the industry moves to electric drives, HATZ wanted experimental concept studies to position itself as an innovator and to start conversations with customers.
The first Concept Cube (2022) reimagined the vibratory plate as a fully electric machine with app control. It moves in any direction, including curves and diagonals.
The approach
Concept Cube 2.0 brought the idea closer to production. It has the dimensions of a standard vibratory plate, weighs 500 kg and runs fully on electricity. Its design language clearly evolves from the first Concept Cube.
The control concept was the focus. Inspired by 3D mice and Formula 1 steering wheels, we developed a hybrid: the operator drives with a classic handlebar, or detaches the steering element, folds the handlebar down and controls the machine remotely.

Scope
HYVE covered the industrial design, the digital design and the control concept, from the first idea to prototype.
